My Baby’s Room

26 Jul

A few of you mothers to be maybe starting to decorate the nursery.
It’s so exciting to prepare a room in anticipation of your new arrival. If your looking for inspiration then have a look at what we did to Eivissa’s room, maybe it will give you some ideas.

Baby’s cot

We bought the 4 poster cot from a baby boutique shop in London, the bumper/blanket is from France.

The chaise long was bought from a vintage store and we painted it white. The arm chair came from a charity shop and we changed the fabric and also painted it white.

The patterned bear was made by my talented sister and the Harrods brown bear was a gift from our friends.
Trinkets and hanging things

I made the hanging hearts with my mum, it’s a great thing to do while on maternity leave.
I love displaying my favourite things for Eivissa including her shoes, clothes and trinkets.

Frames and Baby’s name

I framed my scan pictures and designed a ‘E’ motif which we painted onto her wardrobe, I made her a personalised cushion as well.

Wardrobes and handles

We transformed furniture by changing the handles and painting them white for the shabby chic look.

Baskets and Storage

Mirrors and candle holders

Look forward to baby!

Im sure your all going to love putting your very own personal touch on your babies room, it’s such a great thing to do!

Wow, I love this room and all the girly touches! I’m 13 weeks away and we have just had the nursery plastered so I’m now going to start picking out little bits for the room. It looks great. I don’t know the sex but now that I’ve seen this room it would be great to know so that I can start decorating! If I had a boy I think I’d go for a sailor / beach theme. What would you have done?

Thank you! I’m glad you like what I’ve done. Love the idea of a sailor/beach theme for a boys room. That would be so cute! Blue, white and anchors would look great. Enjoy doing your nursery it’s so much fun. Hope your pregnancy is going well?
      All the best

    Hi Heather

Thanks for putting these pics on!!!
What a beautiful nursery you have created.
You have given me some good ideas.
I don’t know what I am having yet, but I think I’m going with the vintage look, using white and grey, then will add either a little pink or blue once I know.
I have found that most nursery shops, don’t stock the look I like, so what you have done with using old furniture is great. I’m currently on the hunt for an old rocking chair to paint!!
    Thanks once again, take care.
